Britt Nilsson Gets 2015 ‘Bachelorette’ Gig After All? Reality Steve Clears Things Up [Update]

Who is the next Bachelorette — Britt Nilsson or Kaitlyn Bristowe? The decision will be up to the 25 guys who will be cast for the 2015 season of ABC’s popular reality show.

Update: Host Chris Harrison introduced both Britt and Kaitlyn as the new Bachelorettes during the Bachelor After the Final Rose special. When the show premieres in May, the 25 men who arrive at the mansion will choose who will be the Bachelorette, sending the other girl home. Sound off in the comments section below with your thoughts on the dual-Bachelorette season.

Both Kaitlyn and Britt were spotted out in L.A. with film crews last weekend, just days after it was all but confirmed that Kaitlyn got the gig. Knowing that die-hard fans follow their every move on social media, both girls posted photos online while they were out and about in Los Angeles.

The photos prompted rumors that Britt Nilsson is still in the running for the role of the Bachelorette — or is it possible that both girls will appear on the upcoming season?

Host Chris Harrison, who will make the official announcement on the Bachelor “After the Final Rose” special on Monday night, recently talked to TV Guide about who he thought should become the Bachelorette. He stated that Kaitlyn would be “very good” and Britt would be “phenomenal” too — that sure sounds like someone who is leaning towards both, or perhaps he just wasn’t sure.

Reality Steve addressed the confusion on his blog today, just hours before Chris Soules makes his final pick. He had no clear answer, but did note that producers cast two men as the Bachelor back in 2004 (Season 6) when 25 girls met both Byron and Jay and decided who they wanted as the Bachelor (Jay was sent home).

“Here’s one way to look at it: If they really have been torn over these last two weeks on who to choose, it would make sense for them to have both girls there the first night and let the guys choose… this is season 30… it would kinda make sense to do something different for the first night, no?”

Fans are divided over who should be the next Bachelorette, with some rooting for Britt and others, including Bachelor Chris Soules, hoping Kaitlyn will be given the gig. Chris tells People that Kaitlyn is “ready to find love” and has his support. He made no mention of Britt, so it’s clear he’s not a fan of her over-the-top drama.

“She’s got a great personality… She would handle crazy dates… and she’s ready to find love. I think that’s really important…”

Rumors will finally be put to rest tonight when host Chris Harrison make the big announcement about who producers cast for the role of ABC’s next leading lady. Or is it ladies?

Are you Team Britt or Team Kaitlyn — or would you like to see both of them become the Bachelorette 2015?
