Niall James Horan is one of the most charming members of the One Direction band, and as with anybody in the group, he has a loyal following. Having gotten into the limelight in 2010 in the seventh series of the X-Factor competition, he has come a long way. At the time, he was only 16 years old and had dreams of becoming as famous as Justin Bieber. And just before his audition on X Factor, he offered the following in regard to this.
“I’ve been compared to him [Justin Bieber] a few times and it’s not a bad comparison. I want to sell out arenas and make an album and work with some of the best artists in the world.”
This is as reported by MTV. The following is what happened next.
“Taking the stage before judges Simon Cowell, Katy Perry, Cheryl Cole, and Louis Walsh, Niall launched into Ne-Yo’s ‘So Sick,’ which earned mixed reactions. Cowell said Niall was ‘unprepared’ but still likable, and in the end, Perry was the deciding vote. Though she cited Niall’s young age as a potential hindrance, she admitted he was adorable and charismatic, and eventually gave him the ‘yes’ he needed to move on to the next round, warning him, ‘Don’t let us down!’”
Delving a bit into how he managed to get into the One Direction band, he had during the competition failed to make it to the Boys’ category but got saved by a suggestion by Nicole Scherzinger, one of the show’s judges, to join the band, which at the time was composed of Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne. Together, they ended up making it to the finals, finishing in third place. They soon after signed a $2 million contract with Simon Cowell.
By June 2015, the group had grossed about $130 million in earnings, making its members among the highest earning celebrities in the world. Presently, One Direction is on an 18-month hiatus, which gives Niall Horan more than enough time to reflect and indulge in charitable endeavors. Niall has of late been said to be working with Justin Rose on songs for charity.
He, Justin Timberlake, and former U.S. Open champion Justin Rose are reported to have recently stopped by the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship finals at Augusta National, where kids were working on their final preparations, giving them a wonderful surprise. This is as reported by PGA. That said, Horan and Rose have been on a mission to use golf as a means to raise money for their charitable endeavors.
On Sunday, Niall Horan’s fans took to Twitter to celebrate their star, naming the day Niall Day. As such, the hashtags #NiallDay and #ProjectHome trended for hours throughout the day. On why they chose Niall, some stated that he is less dramatic than other members of the One Direction band. The following were other reasons cited by his fans.
