Three women who are related have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 7-year-old girl, Little Jor’Dynn Duncan. The helpless girl was reportedly tortured to death after being thrashed in Long Island across three generations of women, where she succumbed to 90 stab injuries found on her body. Per reports, Duncan suffered the dreaded torture abuse for at least a year.
According to the New York Post, Suffolk County prosecutors on Wednesday stated that Emily Kelly, a 50-year-old woman, was granted custody of the victim while her mother and daughter allegedly subjected the girl to prolonged abuse until the victim’s body could no longer withstand it. Consequently, Kelly, her 75-year-old mother, Barbara Renner, and 24-year-old daughter, Elyssa Seymore, have also been charged with prolonged child abuse.

The court has ordered that Kelly, who is now facing charges of murder, reckless endangerment, unlawful imprisonment, and endangering the welfare of a child, be held on either a $5 million cash bail or a $10 million bond. Her mother has been charged with second-degree manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child and is ordered to be held either on $50,000 cash or a $500,000 bond.
Meanwhile, Kelly’s daughter is facing charges of illegal imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child, and prolonged child abuse. She was also ordered to be held on $25,000 cash bail or a $250,000 bond. All three Long Island women are reportedly scheduled to appear in court on Jun 23, 2026, as per ABC News.
In an official statement, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney addressed the incident and noted that it was not “an alleged single act of violence” while “months of alleged systematic cruelty and sadistic abuse, meticulously documented.” He added, “The child was allegedly left to die while these defendants watched her deteriorate.” The attorney stated that no child should ever experience such terror and that justice will be sought for Jor’Dynn.
Kelly’s fiancé, who happens to be Duncan’s father, was placed in the home by Child Protective Services in December 2024, and custody and guardianship were later granted to the accused in April 2025. However, over the course of the year, the 7-year-old remained absent from school for 40 days, while Kelly and her relatives offered various excuses, including sickness, family emergencies, and even fake trips to Disney World.
It was later on Dec 29 that cops got a 911 call made from the house claiming that the 7-year-old had suffered cardiac arrest. Duncan was then taken to NYU Langone Hospital in Suffolk County, where she was declared dead.
As a result, police initiated a probe after a post-mortem report revealed that the 7-year-old died due to massive, untreated infection caused by “sharp force injuries.” The prosecutors suggest that the abuse had allegedly been happening since at least January 2025, and the child had around 90 injuries across her body.
