A 13-second video showing a Florida manager rudely confronting an elderly McDonald’s employee has sparked widespread outrage across social media platforms. He was reportedly terminated from his job for mishandling cleaning duties.

X user Suzie Rizzio, who originally posted the video, gave some context behind the viral clip. According to her, the manager aggressively confronted the part-time worker in front of customers. He was dismissed from his position over allegations that his cleaning was not up to standard.

“Now this pissed me off,” Rizzio wrote in her caption. “Because at a McDonald’s in Fort Myers, Florida, a rude manager took this elderly employee and disciplined him in the dining hall in front of customers. He was a part-timer who was allegedly fired because he didn’t clean good enough. He was loved by customers.”

While the manager’s exact words cannot be heard in the video, her hostile demeanor and aggressive posture are visible throughout the brief encounter. She can be seen pointing to and tapping a piece of paper, possibly giving instructions on which sections the employee needs to fill out.

The person behind the camera can also be heard voicing frustration in the recording. She condemned the manager for publicly humiliating the senior worker in front of visiting customers.

“That is not professional,” she says at one point during the recording of the video. “They should have an office for that.”

The manager’s aggressive and disrespectful tone drew condemnation from online viewers. Many attempted to identify the employee to get him some immediate help.

“God, I would’ve loved to have been there. Cops would have been called. Absolutely unnecessary,” one X user commented.

A separate comment read, “McDonald’s doesn’t care about their employees. The one a family member of mine works at doesn’t have a working air conditioner, and it’s over 100 degrees every day. They would prefer if you died so that they don’t have to fire you.”

Another commentator opened up about his own experience managing weak employees: “Jesus! As a college student, I supervised rehabilitation and physically challenged people working in a dish room. I had told them the same thing every day, never fired a soul. It was challenging, but I’m still proud of that work and those workers. Don’t supervise if you lack patience.”

Some netizens attempted to bring the matter to the fast food giant’s attention. One user wrote, “@McDonald’s have a look at this video. Everyone, and I mean everyone, deserves a little respect. Even if they are being disciplined. And they shouldn’t be disciplined in the dining room where all of your guests can hear it.”

Another added, “This is vile. @McDonald’s There is NO excuse for a manager to be rude, and NO excuse to “discipline” an employee in the public area of the restaurant in front of customers. The manager needs to be fired. The man is elderly and surely needs his job and his paycheck. NO EXCUSE!”

“@McDonald’s Is THIS your company culture now? Do you train your managers to *publicly humiliate* employees under ANY circumstances?! If you think this won’t drive away a LOT more customers, you are in for a well-deserved surprise,” read another comment from an angry netizen.
