Hamburgers and French fries took a backseat to formal wear at a McDonald’s in Northeast Ohio last Saturday. Jamie and George Callicoat, two co-workers, transformed the restaurant into a wedding venue.

The couple exchanged vows inside the golden-arched establishment in front of a small gathering of loved ones and fellow crew members. Surprised customers, who had stopped in for a meal, were able to witness the unique ceremony.

“@mcdonalds_neohio presents the marriage of Jamie and George Callicoat. They met, work together, work here and said, hey, let’s get married here! The drive-thru is still open,” a message on the franchise’s Instagram account reads.

In viral video footage captured during the ceremony, the bride made a truly unique grand entrance. She can be seen walking down the makeshift aisle straight from behind the restaurant’s front counter.

Adding a playful touch to the fast-food nuptials, the flower girl decided to stick to the unique theme. Instead of using a traditional flower basket to scatter petals down the aisle, she can be seen using a McDonald’s kids’ meal bucket.

While the bride got dolled up in a white gown, the groom ditched the tuxedo and opted for all-black attire with a red tie.

In a conversation with Fox News, the newlywed couple revealed how they got the idea to get married at the fast food venue. Jamie said that they almost got married at a different location at first.

“We were actually planning on getting married at Cedar Point on the beach because that’s where we met. We were at work one day, getting ready for a corporate visit, and our district manager was there doing a walk-through with our general manager, and we were talking about it.”

‘They jokingly suggested we get married at McDonald’s. And we thought about it for a day or so and went back and were like, ‘Were you guys serious?'” And one thing kind of led to another, and here we are.”

“So everybody kind of rolled with the punches. We had people trying to come in the lobby the whole time. We had some people that made their way in unknowingly…and made their way to the kiosk and got orders through.”

Since the franchise was not closed during the ceremony, customers continued to visit. Being a dedicated worker, Jamie didn’t hesitate to serve them even on her special day.

“And at that point you have to go in, and at one point I was handing out extra sauces to an actual customer in my wedding dress.” Jamie said that McDonald’s was on the wedding menu.

“So it is what it is. The kids did have McDonald’s. The adults feasted with pulled barbecue chicken, buffalo chicken dip, homemade riggotoni, and fried chicken.”

The unconventional ceremony quickly captured the internet’s heart. Online viewers were delighted by the nuptials and affectionately dubbed the celebration a “McWedding.”

“I will McLove you till the day a McPerish,” one Instagram user commented.

Another added, “And guess what, their marriage will probably last longer than many people who spend 50K+ on a wedding.”

“You see, I wanna laugh. But if this is how two people show love and commitment to each other, who am I to judge,” a separate comment read.

“I hope for an abundance of Mchappiness for the rest of their McLives! McLove is in the air,” wrote a fourth viewer.
