Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have yet again irked the palace insiders for allegedly attempting to divert attention from significant royal obligations linked to King Charles and the rest of the royal family members. According to reports, the Duke of Sussex has been tagged “Hijack Harry,” especially after the couple posted romantic pictures on their eighth wedding anniversary.

According to Radar Online, the latest tensions involving Harry and Meghan Markle stemmed from their mushy post made on social media to mark their eighth wedding anniversary. The post coincided with the day that also marked King Charles and Queen Camilla’s significant three-day visit to Northern Ireland. The royal insiders reportedly stated that the timing revived long-standing tensions with palace circles.

Sources claimed that Harry and Meghan have repeatedly scheduled announcements, projects, or social media activity that coincide with major royal engagements involving senior royals. This is seen as an attempt to maintain public attention and divert focus from official monarchy events.

A source said, “Harry’s new nickname among some staff is ‘Hijack Harry’ because there’s a growing feeling every major royal event is suddenly accompanied by a Sussex announcement, photograph release or intervention that is seen as a pathetic attempt to shift the spotlight back onto them.”

The insider added that people working closely with the monarch believe the pattern has become “predictable” and “increasingly deliberate.” They pointed out that every time Charles or Prince William focus on public duties, the couple find a way to drag headlines back to themselves. He went on to describe the alleged attempts to hijack Charles’s royal public activities as “cringeworthy and deliberate.”

Another source stressed that the staff was especially irked by the couple’s Instagram post made on their eighth wedding anniversary, which coincided with the monarch’s Northern Ireland tour.

The source stated that staff working with the king remarked that royal trips should be about public engagements instead of competing with media attention generated from California. The source pointed to a recurring pattern of Sussex-related announcements aligning with major royal engagements, noting that Harry’s trip to Ukraine took place just before Charles’ high-profile visit to the United States.

Harry’s visit to Ukraine at the time drew comparisons and online chatter, with internet users comparing it to the humanitarian work his mother, Princess Diana, whose charitable legacy has endured since her death at age 36 in 1997. Another tipster revealed that advisors around the monarch strongly believe that Harry is “trying to rebuild relevance in Britain through carefully staged interventions” that are related to humanitarian concerns.

The source claimed that critics believe every speech, article or appearance has evolved into a part of a “broader image rehabilitation campaign” for Harry, as it is adversely conflicting with the public efforts of the royal family.

The allegations come nearly six years after the Sussexes infamously stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and left the UK to settle down in California.
