Some observers have scrutinized Meghan Markle’s past relationships prior to her marriage to Prince Harry. As a public figure, her dating history has drawn significant media attention, with some critics offering unflattering interpretations of the people she has dated.
Reports have linked Markle to individuals from her college years, including a former basketball player named Steve Lepore. While details about their relationship remain limited, relationship expert Annabelle Knight suggested that some of Markle’s early relationships may have played a role in shaping her social trajectory, though such claims remain speculative.
Trevor Engelson, Meghan’s ex-husband, has truly remained a class act. He’s never once spoken badly about her, never sought attention, and has quietly moved on and built a happy life.

Markle later married film producer Trevor Engelson. The couple dated for several years before marrying in 2011 and divorcing in 2013. According to biographer Andrew Morton’s 2018 book on Markle, Engelson was reportedly surprised by the split.
Despite speculation surrounding their separation, Engelson has not publicly criticized Markle. She was also in a relationship with chef Cory Vitiello, which ended around the time she met Prince Harry. Reports suggest the breakup was amicable, with no public indication of conflict between the two.
Meanwhile, Markle and Prince Harry have continued to make public appearances together:

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Vitiello said he respected Markle and wished her well, adding that there was “no bitterness” following their split. Markle was also reportedly in a relationship with a high school classmate, Luis Segura, who later described her as kind, fun, and private.
More recently, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Jordan as part of their humanitarian efforts to connect with local communities. Despite ongoing public scrutiny and some from the royal family itself, the couple continues to focus on charitable initiatives and international engagements, including an upcoming trip to Australia.
