A young man in West Virginia has been booked on numerous criminal charges after he used revolting pseudonyms on social media to spread explicit graphic content involving minors. Authorities investigated claims that the suspect was publicly “boasting of his large cache of ‘child p*rn.'”

According to investigators, Garrett Michael Highlander, 20, of Morgantown, often posted on Discord under distasteful usernames like “MrChildPo*n,” and “MrToxix,” and distributed child se*ual abuse material (CSAM) online.

Highlander faces multiple charges, including possession of material depicting minors engaged in se*ually explicit conduct. He is currently being held in North Central Regional Jail.

The investigation began after West Virginia State Police received an alert from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The report stated that an online user was boasting in public chatrooms about maintaining an extensive cache of illicit material involving minors.

According to the criminal complaint filed by state troopers, a search of Highlander’s digital devices exposed multiple explicit images and a video depicting a young “pubescent” female. Investigators noted in court documents that the minor in the files appeared to be young and showed visible signs of physical harm, including cuts on her arms and legs.

After law enforcement launched an investigation, detectives tracked the suspect’s digital footprint across various social media platforms, public forums, and chatrooms, where he allegedly lurked under offensive usernames directly related to the illegal content. Following the initial investigation, Highlander was taken into custody by the state police on Friday.

Investigators noted that Highlander often sent explicit content to other users unprovoked. According to WBOY, which reviewed the official complaint, “other users complained that MrToxix (Highlander) would not stop sending CSAM,” while some users claimed the suspect “was sending the content directly to them via ‘DM’ (direct message).”

According to Troopers investigating the case, they discovered “numerous chat conversations” where Highlander attempted to use Discord’s AI feature to look for explicit content involving infants. Additionally, he actively “asked repeatedly if anyone was willing to trade ‘cp’ with him.”

They also cited that when confronted, Highlander said he only made such comments on social media platforms to be ‘inflammatory.” He used terms like “trolling” and “ragebaiting” to justify making offensive statements.

At the same time, the suspect admitted to being there in “chat servers… in which young, often juvenile females were groomed or talked into self-harm.” However, the complaint also emphasizes that he “insisted he was never involved in this activity.”
