Police arrested a West Virginia mother after she chased her children with a knife and threatened to cut their throats. This wasn’t an isolated incident of child abuse in their home, as Sara Daniels physically hurt the kids repeatedly.

The 36-year-old Randolph County mother is now facing three counts of child abuse resulting in injury and strangulation. She chased one of the kids around the house with a knife, which ended up cutting the child’s finger. The three kids, ages nine, 11, and 14, told the investigators she threatened their lives and physically assaulted them. Daniels grabbed the kids by the throat and hit them before making death threats.

 

The children also revealed her rage and actions were due to dr*g use. She used to take illegal substances along with her boyfriend. At one time, they rammed their vehicles into each other and almost hit the 9-year-old child.

All the kids explained the horrific situations that their mother put them through. They shared these details during an interview with the Child Advocacy Center in Elkins. These interviews with the kids were conducted on May 18 following the mother’s arrest while the West Virginia State Police were present.

The court documents revealed a 9-year-old’s statement about Daniels: “I’ll cut your brother and sister’s throat if you leave.” They also added that their mother used to abuse them verbally and threatened to kill them and then herself.

Daniels once told the teenage daughter that she “wished she would have died.” In addition, she told her she’s helping her daughter kill herself. The deranged mother also said she’ll do it right the next time, referring to the physical abuse intended to kill the 14-year-old. The authorities also saw a scar on the 11-year-old’s head. The scar was due to an injury caused by Daniels as she banged her head against the door.

The police have not released any additional information in the case, and it’s still an ongoing investigation. According to WDTV, the mother is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $30,000 cash-only bond. So far, no court decision, acquittal, or dismissal has been announced. The trial will take time.
