In a violent encounter that took place in downtown Tempe, Arizona, within the Mill Avenue entertainment district, police officers allegedly tackled an unnamed Black woman onto a metal bicycle after she began watching them from a public sidewalk. Quinn Gamino, who originally posted the video on Instagram, provided context in his caption. He wrote, “Tempe PD threw her and punched her in the face. help me expose this nonsense,” he wrote.
In the widely shared footage, several white police officers can be seen at the site of the incident. They were tackling an individual and holding them to the ground when a black woman, who appeared to be with the detainee, tried to talk to the police officers.
One of them got really angry and pushed her so hard that she fell on the concrete sidewalk. He then pushed her face-down onto the bicycle and got on her back, leaving her skirt pulled up. The officer proceeded to pin her down with his full body weight, forcing her torso to bend awkwardly across the bike’s metal frame, pedals, and handlebars.
The woman continued to struggle to break free as she was dragged away. She can be heard screaming profanities at the police officers. The footage only shows what happened during the brawl. It is still unclear what prompted the police officers to get involved in the physical altercation with the woman or whether the woman received any medical care or attention following the encounter.
As the clip gained traction across social media, viewers ripped into the police officers for handling the encounter so roughly. One X user smelled racism and pointed out that the woman did not deserve to be shoved to the ground, as she did not attack the officer.

“She didn’t touch any officers before the cop violently pushed her over & punched her in the face while she was stuck on the bicycle, just because she was yelling at the cops to stop assaulting her friends. Imo, all male law enforcement are misogynistic towards women & WOC,” they wrote.
Another asked for harsher punishments for such police officers, “This is why young people on the left want to cut police agency budgets. They act like power hungry thugs and the kids are sick of it.”
A separate user who claims to live the area blamed the PD’s MAGA allegiance, “I live in Tempe. They need to be investigated by the Feds. They treat lots of people like that. Inside the jail it’s the same thing. I’ve had my own experience with them and scars to prove it. A person who works at Tempe PD. told me it’s been taken over by MAGA thugs. Shocker.”
“She was not interfering and he didn’t have to be aggressive. I hope her and the detainee get justice. They were pushed down unnecessarily hard on the concrete,” another comment read.
A fifth viewer wrote, “This is awful, extremely unnecessary force .. she didn’t even do anything to them physically for this to even happen.”
