Rosie O’Donnell, who is a well-known Trump troller, shared details about her secret facelift. As someone against plastic surgery, she had a lot of shame and judgment attached to the decision. Even her own family was not on her side with it. However, she explained her reason at the 2026 Tony Awards red carpet. The 64-year-old wrote a poem on Substack describing her facelift. She wrote how she paid more than for a vehicle to get a facelift, but still felt ashamed of the decision.
Her Substack poem read, “I used to feel very strongly about facelifts. Not casually – morally. I had assigned myself as head of all women who would never – ever.” The Trump rival even called it a betrayal of feminism and aging. But when she lost 50 pounds after taking weight loss drugs, that changed her thoughts on plastic surgery.
Rosie O’Donnell shared before and after photos of her deep plane facelift on Substack after losing 50 lbs.
She had long advocated strongly against cosmetic procedures and for natural aging. Seeing this shift at 64 is notable.

What she saw was not wrinkles but gravity. She made references to her younger self and how she decided after changing her mind multiple times. At last, she picked a trusted doctor to do her natural-looking facelift. She claimed she wanted to look like herself even after the procedure.
She mentioned that her autistic daughter threatened to never see her with respect if she got the surgery. Fortunately, she did not say anything to her when she came home after ten days, and it was not even noticeable.
O’Donnell told E! News, “Authenticity is the goal these days and times, and people are lying about everything all day to the American public. It’s very depressing to me and unsettling, and I think all that matters is truth and love, and so I wanted to be truthful and say all the complicated emotions I had about it.”
She said in an interview with Variety, “For the first time in 15 years, there were paparazzi waiting for me at the airport.” She wondered if she had walked through a portal, landing back in 1995. She said, “It was wild. They wanted to see my facelift.” She explained that her facelift is barely visible as it was done only on the lower half of the face to get rid of the sad lines and chin.

For a very long time, O’Donnell has been against plastic surgery and has always wanted to look her age. With age, she caved into the beauty standards and the pressure to get the work done to maintain a youthful appearance. Needless to say, there have been several reactions. An X user asked, “Why advertise it? It is so minimal. No one would have known. She made it news.”
The second netizen appreciated her facelift and how natural it looked, “Not a fan but she looks amazing! Whoever is her surgeon needs to be celebrated!” another one added, “She looks great. Good for her. I think the move to Ireland or whatever probably helped her as well. She is way too obsessed with politics and it has to be bad for her health.” one more chimed in, “She looks pretty good. It wasn’t overdone.”
