OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney is set to take a plea deal in the Miami murder trial. She stabbed her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli, to death on April 3, 2022, and has been in Dade County prison since August 2022. Clenney was charged with second-degree murder after the crime that happened at their One Paraiso condominium building, a high-rise Miami apartment. She killed her 27-year-old boyfriend during an altercation.
According to the county medical examiner, Obumseli died due to a forceful downward thrust from a blade that went three inches into his chest and hit a major artery. When she was arrested, she claimed he had pushed her and thrown her to the floor. Then she grabbed the knife and threw it at him. The examiner argued this, as the injuries were inconsistent with her explanation. A knife would not have injured him that deeply if it had been thrown from a distance.
Her defense claimed she stabbed him in self-defense, while the prosecutors called it a cold murder, as Obumseli was unarmed and not a threat. The defense attorney also had evidence to prove her innocence in court. They were going to present the case as self-defense, a battered spouse syndrome defense, showing texts, fights, and injuries happening in Miami, Dubai, and Austin. Moreover, there has been a history of abuse in their relationship.
The state attorney’s office established that Clenney was abusive and violent. Video footage from Aspen appears to show Clenney repeatedly striking Obumseli during an argument. Separate elevator surveillance footage from Miami, recorded in February 2022, also shows Clenney shoving and hitting Obumseli. This happened two months before the murder, but signaled their relationship was tumultuous. Obumseli did not hit her but tried to restrain her to stop her from hitting him any further.
When the Miami police reported the crime, they found Clenney covered in her boyfriend’s blood. Earlier, Local10 reported, she may face a life sentence considering the charges.

Obumseli’s family attorney released a statement, “Pleading guilty and accepting full responsibility will begin the process of bringing closure to a very tragic, life-changing event for the Obumseli family.” The attorney also added that all parties have agreed to a resolution to avoid a lengthy trial.
The family also settled a wrongful death lawsuit against the apartment building. The owner of the apartment was ready to evict them due to their violent fights impacting the neighbors. One neighbor who lived downstairs revealed that a painting was thrown onto his balcony while the two were fighting. The plea deal will be read in court on August 10, and it’s up to the judge to accept the plea deal. The specific terms of the deal haven’t been revealed to the public yet.
