Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Andrew Chiachio testified in court in the ongoing Lindsay Clancy trial. She stands accused of strangling her three kids to death, claiming to have had postpartum psychosis at that time.

Chiachio shared his opinion on a 2021 Facebook post written by Clancy. In the post, the mother of three wrote how everything was a constant battle, and her kids frustrated her. She spoke about her then-19-month-old son, Dawson, who had been difficult ever since he was 8 months old. She described him as the “most difficult human” to have ever encountered.

She wrote this long post to seek help, advice, and ideas to deal with the situation. She claimed tasks such as getting him dressed, changing diapers, or even putting him in a car seat were a battle. He fought her every step of the way, and she had to force him to do these things.

This was another digital evidence that the police found against Clancy; however, this could not establish her being abusive towards her children. Clancy’s attorney asked Chiachio, “Now, as a state police officer, you know how to investigate things, right? You guys must have turned things inside out to find out if Lindsay Clancy was ever abusive to her son, Dawson. Right.”

He agreed she was not abusive according to the evidence. The attorney asked him, “Found nothing, did you?” to which he replied, “No.” The attorney concluded the testimony, “Thank you. That’s all I have.”

Another viewer chimed in, “When she had the third baby, the second was only 11 months old! Why do that? An educated woman! Why?” A parent noted, “Toddlers behave like toddlers.” “My friend had this; she got the right help, it’s real!” posted one more.

Those sweet babies.” An X user commented, “As a mom to a young toddler boy, I can tell you they are difficult. I saw that post as a normal mom looking for help and advice to deal with a defiant toddler.”

As a postpartum mom, Clancy was taking different medications to deal with her mental crisis. Her attorney claimed the cocktail of 13 different medications impacted her behavior.

On the other hand, an expert testified in court and revealed there were therapeutic levels of medications in her blood. The argument remains since the medication impacts everyone differently, and a logical comparison can’t be made despite the blood tests and her actual mental condition.
