Advertising and sponsored content
Last updated: November 6, 2026
Inquisitr is free to read because of advertising. This page explains the kinds of ads and paid content you may see, and how we keep them separate from our journalism.
Our rule
If a company pays for content, or has a say in it, we label it "Sponsored." Our newsroom's stories are never for sale.
Display ads
Most ads on Inquisitr are served by Google AdSense. Google picks them automatically. We don't choose individual ads, and advertisers don't see our stories before they run. Ads appear in clearly marked ad spaces. To report a bad ad, email us with a screenshot and the page link.
Sponsored content
Sponsored content is paid for by an advertiser or a partner. It may be written by the sponsor, by people working for them, or by us for them. It may also be an article that a partner pays to promote with their own ads.
Sponsored content always:
- carries the label "Sponsored" above the headline, in clear, easy-to-read text
- names the sponsor, for example "Sponsored by [company name]"
- keeps the label everywhere it appears: on our homepage, in story lists, on the story page, in our feeds, and when shared
- is not credited to an Inquisitr news desk or to an invented person
The label goes where readers see it first, not at the bottom of the page. If you can reach a sponsored story directly, for example from a search engine, social media, or an ad, the story page itself is labeled.
What sponsors can and can't do
- Sponsors can't buy, change, or block our news coverage.
- Sponsored content must be truthful. Claims about products, health, money, or results must be backed by evidence.
- Sponsored content can't use fake testimonials, fake reviews, invented experts, or fake news brands.
- Sponsored content can't look like breaking news or an official notice.
- Sponsored content follows our AI image rules: no realistic AI images of real people or events.
- We can turn down or remove any sponsored content.
Paid promotion of our stories
Partners sometimes pay to send readers to specific Inquisitr articles, for example with social media ads. If the partner chose, paid for, or shaped the article, it is sponsored content and labeled "Sponsored." Ads that lead to our site must describe the article honestly, and must not suggest that a sponsored article is independent news.
Links in sponsored content
Links in our stories, including any paid links, are marked so search engines do not count them as endorsements. If we ever earn a commission when you buy something through a link, we will say so next to the link.
