A rescue dog saved her owner’s life. What’s most surprising about the story is that she wasn’t a service dog or trained in any way. In fact, she was from an animal shelter where no one would adopt her.

She wasn’t comfortable around men, and three people had already rejected her. Meanwhile, a kind man, Brian Myers, took a chance and adopted her. He claimed he could work through her issues and give her a beautiful life.

Sadie wasn’t an easy pet to train, as she was full of life and almost 100 pounds. But Myers felt like he was saving her when he adopted her. Little did he know that she was going to save him instead.

One night, Myers had a stroke and fell in his bedroom. The phone was far away from him. That’s when Sadie came to his rescue. She grabbed him and pulled him close to the phone so he could call for emergency rescue.

He lived alone, so no one else would have helped him. Timely treatment is crucial when someone has a stroke, as most of the time the condition can be fatal. Sadie made sure Myers would make it despite the serious condition.

He was taken to the Englewood Health in New Jersey. He spent a few weeks there for treatment and rehab. When he got out of the hospital, Sadie was right outside waiting for him. She jumped on him and started licking his face. She was glad he was fine and showed how she trusted him. The two had developed a lifelong bond.

Even Myers could not explain how she saved his life that day. Megan, an expert, revealed that rescue dogs can be incredibly loyal. She added, “When you have a dog who’s lost something, all the dogs that come here have lost a family or person, or they never quite had that, so when they make that connection, you really become their world.”

The heartfelt tale of Sadie being a hero went viral, garnering over a million views. Several viewers appreciated the dog and her intelligence. One viewer commented, “She’s beautiful. It’s hard to believe that it was so difficult to find someone to adopt her.” The second one added, “The way the dog was so incredibly happy when he was coming out of the hospital – Sadie really loves her Daddy! Beautiful story.”

One more posted, “Animals never cease to amaze me with their sixth sense and intuitiveness. Sadie is an incredible dog. He’s here because of Sadie, and he truly knows how fortunate he is. Sadie will always be loved.”

One user shared her own experience, “I have a rescue dog that was going to be euthanized, and she came into my life just around the time my neurologist insisted that I get a therapy dog because of my seizures. My little chihuahua will always get in my face when she notices that I am stressed out and calm me down, and seizures have decreased quite a bit. Having a therapy dog is truly an amazing experience!”
