Protesters outside Newark’s Delaney Hall detention center were met with a counterprotester who was defending Donald Trump. The protesters were gathered outside Delaney Hall to condemn the private ICE detention facility.

Given the alleged inhumane conditions in the facility, more than 300 detainees also went on a hunger and labor strike. Democratic lawmakers inspected the facility after the strike and discovered unsanitary conditions. There was reportedly a lack of medical care, dirty toilets, and even abusive behavior from guards.

The facility was also met with ICE brutality as the confrontation turned violent. They were also shot with pepper balls, and several MAGA supporters showed up. One of the Trump supporters labeled the protesters as terrorist sympathizers.

A video of the loud argument went viral, shared by TikToker adamcrai. He shared that they are at the protest, and everyone should hear what this Trump supporter has to say. He then aimed the camera at the MAGA supporter.

When the protesters tried to argue, calling Trump a pe— and a child r—, the Trump supporter defended the 79-year-old president whose name has been mentioned in the Jeffrey Epstein files 1,000 times.

The counter-protester said, “I don’t give a f– if Donald Trump is a pe—. Every person in there is a f– criminal.” Then he proceeded to say, “I’d rather have one p– than 1000 criminals,” calling the detained immigrants “criminals.” The protesters were shocked after this statement and just uttered “wow” in disbelief.

Apart from the protesters’ reactions, netizens also chimed in to express their disbelief. One Reddit user commented, “That guy for sure has some kind of mental illness in there.” Another one asked, “Does he think p– aren’t criminals?” One user joked, “They’re not smart, or good, people.” “Of course he doesn’t care because he’s probably one also,” posted one more. Several netizens called out Republicans who would go to any lengths to defend Trump.

One user commented, “Republicans can’t care about anything until it affects them personally.” Another counterprotester stood in front of the protesters and yelled that she’s an American citizen. She was wearing a Trump t-shirt with his photo on the American flag and a “we won” slogan.

On the other hand, there are MAGA supporters and public figures who have expressed guilt over voting for Trump after seeing the state of the economy and prolonged war with Iran. Trump’s approval ratings are at an all-time low. Key reasons include the rise in gas prices, the death of U.S. service members in the Iran war, and the affordability crisis.
