Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche recently gave shocking remarks about President Donald Trump as he claimed that the president would’ve been imprisoned if the 2024 elections had not gone in his favor. Blanche, who was previously Republican’s personal lawyer, talked about multiple cases that were hanging over Trump at the time.
During a conversation with Fox News anchor Sean Hannity on the latest episode of the Hang Out show that was released on Tuesday, the show host asked Todd Blanche if the conjecture was correct, suggesting that it was either his victory in the 2024 election to get the White House or it was the “big house,” referencing jail for him. In response to this, Blanche was quick to admit, “Oh yeah, absolutely.”

Todd Blanche explained his statement, pointing towards multiple cases surrounding Trump, which included multiple lawsuits filed by special counsel Jack Smith involving the Republican in Washington and Florida, and the then-candidate’s criminal convictions in New York related to the trial stemming from hush money claims.
“Don’t forget, he had a D.C. case breathing down his neck, he had the Florida case — which had been dismissed, but they were appealing it — and then he had a judge in New York who there’s no scenario in which he wasn’t going to send President Trump to prison. He didn’t, after the president won,” he said, further stating that the consequences of the 2024 elections were equally priceless for the country, him and his family.

The show host followed up with a question asking if the Justice Department was also involved in the grand juries that targeted the President; Blanche confirmed it, further noting that the matter is still under investigation, with authorities looking into whether there has been a consistent pattern of actions aimed at “destroying” Trump, his family, and his organization.
When Hannity asked if it was a “fair” practice, Blanche confidently assured that it was. He emphasized that the probe will have to confirm that it was a strategy of politically motivated legal attack against Trump, remarking that it was “not hard to do.”
It is worth mentioning that the federal cases against Trump were dropped following Trump’s victory, referring to a rule stating that a sitting president should not be charged with a crime or taken to court while in office. According to The Independent, Jack Smith testified before Congress last year that he was confident he would’ve secured a judgment against Trump for allegedly conspiring to disrupt the 2024 election.
“The timing and speed of our work reflects the strength of the evidence and our confidence that we would have secured convictions at trial,” he had told the House Judiciary Committee. He stated that if he were asked whether the former president should be indicted on similar facts available today, he would do so irrespective of the party he belonged to.
Meanwhile, the president continues to dispute the New York conviction in state court and makes efforts to transfer the case to federal court.
