A 30-year-old Arizona woman is facing more than 50 criminal charges after she allegedly terrorized her family and neighbors with r*pe, murder, and shooting threats, posing as another man.

Shelbey Fernandez was arrested this week at her Peoria residence for harassing her parents, relatives, family acquaintances, neighbors, and local Jehovah’s Witness congregation for years.

Fernandez allegedly used multiple internet-based phone numbers to hide her identity and threaten about 23 people in over seven years.

According to police, Fernandez posed as the husband of a doctor who had treated her previously to threaten everyone. On June 10, she allegedly sent a nude image of a minor’s genitals to her mother, saying that it was the couple’s young daughter. In another threatening text sent on an unspecified date, she said, “I’ll keep sending child p*rn of my (child’s name). Nothing you can do.”

Her parents believe the doctor’s husband was threatening them with stalking, r*pe, and murder, along with sending messages containing racial slurs and insulting religion.

According to police, she sent threats to her mother that read, “Can’t wait to press and push the trigger against your hubby’s head,” “Feel like killing you… and dismembering your body,” “You’ll never get rid of me,” and “I feel like skinning that son of a b****.”

In an instance, Fernandez texted her mother’s Florida friend the N-word and a penis picture, saying, “I wish I could f*** you… Then throw you in a pond and watch gators tear you apart.” She told another person, “How did you like getting swatted yesterday? I’ll have your residential area swatted again if you keep ignoring me.”

In addition to these s*xual assault-threatening messages, Fernandez also allegedly threatened her mother about a shooting at the family’s congregation on July 9. According to court documents, she sent a message that read: “I’ll get out my .500 S&W Magnum and just pew everyone at your gay-a** church. My target is 18. Maybe I’ll do it this week.”

On August 5, she sent another text with images of firearms, saying, “Can’t wait to test these out at your cult gathering.” These threats led the congregation to go digital and hold services over Zoom since July 12, affecting in-person gatherings, according to court documents.

The couple had reported the doctor’s husband multiple times, with officers contacting him and his wife. After much investigation, police determined that it was none other than the couple’s daughter, Fernandez, who was threatening them.

Furthermore, Fernandez is also accused of making 10 false reports of fabricated shootings, hostage situations, domestic disputes, death threats, and overdoses between July 8 and 18, according to court documents. These reports prompted law enforcement agencies in Arizona and Florida to respond and reach her parents’, relatives’, and the mother’s friend’s homes, and several other places.

Fernandez is charged with more than 50 charges, including making terrorist threats, harassment by false report, stalking, and s*xual exploitation of a minor. She is set to appear in court on August 20 for a preliminary hearing.
