Drunk Arizona couple was arrested after making their kids (ages two and four) walk for a three-hour trek through 108F desert heat following an NFL training camp, refusing help from a concerned bystander before getting into a tiff with cops, authorities said.
Glendale Police arrested Ryan Mullin, 41, and May Mullin, 42, on Sunday evening at around 06:00 p.m., after finding them stumbling along 91st Avenue and Montebello Avenue, nearly two miles from State Farm Stadium. Both parents face child abuse charges. Ryan Mullin was booked on three counts of disorderly conduct.
The incident unfolded after the family left the Arizona Cardinals event inside State Farm Stadium. Temperatures outside soared past 108 degrees as the couple set off on foot, carrying only two bottles of water, according to police reports.
Hostilities began when a motorist stopped and invited the family to ride out of the excessive heat with him. The investigator reports that drunk Ryan Mullin reacted violently toward the motorist, smashing his fists on the windows of the vehicle. He stumbled and fell into the vehicle, receiving facial cuts and a black eye.
Recently released body camera videos revealed the events that occurred as the Glendale police interacted with the Arizona family almost two miles away from the stadium. The police noticed that both the parents were extremely intoxicated, and the kids were dehydrated.

When an Arizona cop commanded Ryan Mullin to surrender his child, he refused and became combative. “No, f**k you, I am telling you that we are five stops away,” Ryan Mullin said in the bodycam footage. “We are five stops away from our f**king home.”
Arizona cops were forced to threaten the use of a taser before physically taking Ryan Mullin into custody. May Mullin was also detained at the scene after cops observed her committing on the side of the road.
According to the legal proceedings, the couple has been charged with felony child abuse offenses. At an initial court hearing, the judge released the couple on their own recognizance but with stringent restrictions prohibiting unsupervised contact with their children.
The two kids were turned over to a family member, and police notified the Arizona Department of Child Safety.
