Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has sparked fresh buzz online after posting a video of himself wrestling two snakes with his bare hands.

RFK Jr. posted the video on his X account, where he was handling two black snakes with his bare hands at Dr. Mehmet Oz’s patio in Florida. His wife, actor Cheryl Hines, reacted with visible panic as the HHS secretary played with them.

The nearly 1-minute-long video shows Kennedy crouching to pick up two black snakes intertwined in a corner of the patio. It is not known if the incident happened recently or in the past, but the background was Oz’s beachfront property in Palm Beach.

In the video, a voice off camera is heard saying, “Were they having s-x?” before suggesting they were fighting. The voice is understood to be of Oz.

As Kennedy reached for the reptile, Hines asked him to stop and said:

“Honey, honey… why?”

Moments later, Kennedy picked up the two snakes by their tails, which appeared to be unhappy with the act and started biting him repeatedly. Hines said:

“Bobby, Bobby, please.”

Meanwhile, Kennedy remained unfazed by the strikes. He did twist his hands around as the snakes tried to bite him, but he didn’t panic one bit. Instead, he smiled and said:

“Black snakes, they’re biting me.”

After seeing the snakes up close, Hines told her husband, “You’re nuts.”

According to The Guardian, the snakes are identified as southern black racers. They are a common nonvenomous species found in Florida.

The Florida Museum of Natural History states that the snakes are generally considered harmless to humans. However, they do bite and retaliate when they feel threatened.

The viral video left social media users with a lot of thoughts, including some funny, some sarcastic, and others just painfully obvious thoughts that had to be said out loud. One user said:

“RFK is used to handling snakes as he has to deal with Democrats on the hill all the time.”

Two others added:

“Take them to the capitol so they can play with their friends.”

“RFK Jr really out here multitasking as Health Sec and Animal Planet host.”

A fourth worried about how safe it is and added:

“Gee, I dunno – is it HEALTHY to pick up snakes and just let them bite you?

Good example for the kiddies, except they might “wrangle” a snake that’s actually venomous.”

Some users were even amused that he didn’t flinch when the snakes bit him.

Despite the video going viral, this isn’t the first time he has publicly shared his bizarre encounters with wild animals.

Over the years, he has been part of many such encounters. These include run-ins with whales, bears, raccoons, and more. His daughter previously revealed how he cut the head off a whale carcass that was washed ashore in Massachusetts.

Another time, he confessed to dumping a dead bear in Central Park in New York in 2014. Initially, he planned to skin the animal and eat it, but had to drop it off in the park because he had a flight to catch. He even put a bicycle beside it to frame a cyclist.
