Donald Trump Jr. got married to Bettina Anderson over the weekend in an intimate ceremony in the Bahamas. Even though the wedding was a low-key affair, it didn’t prevent any speculation online. President Donald Trump confirmed missing his son’s wedding due to “circumstances pertaining to government,” but internet users claim that it could actually be the Epstein connection that may have prevented Trump from attending his son’s big day.
Within days of their wedding, eagle-eyed users were quick to dig out proof of Bettina Anderson’s father, Harry Loy Anderson’s, closeness with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. A recommendation letter written by the socialite’s father in 1999 supporting Epstein has quickly resurfaced on the internet. In a long letter, he spoke highly of Epstein, suggesting, “Mr. Epstein enjoys an excellent reputation in our community…Jeffrey is a gentleman of the highest integrity.”
According to Business Standard, Bettina’s father was president at Palm Beach National Bank & Trust Company, where Epstein had maintained accounts since the early 1990s. A user shared the letter on X, noting, “Many people are saying that being a poor judge of character seems to be a hereditary trait that can be passed down.”

Social media users connected Trump’s absence from his eldest son’s wedding to Anderson’s indirect connection with Epstein. A user said, “Which probably has something to do with why Trump could not make it to the wedding.” Another user speculated, “Suddenly clear why DJT stayed away from this wedding… too many victims there?” A third netizen said, “Let’s call it All in the Family – Epstein version.”

One internet user took a dig at Trump Jr., stating, “Why did Donald Trump Miss Don Jr. and Bettina Anderson’s Wedding? Internet Users Have a Theory. I would say I am surprised, but we all know those do not exist anymore. Just Jr. continuing on Daddy’s legacy.” Another remarked, “Keeping all the crimes within the family.”

According to CNN, Trump Jr. and Bettina tied the nuptial knot at the luxury, Little Pipe Cay, a highly exclusive 38-acre private island known for the ultra-wealthy and situated within the Bahamas archipelago. The official website of the property states that it has beaches, five “luxurious cottage estates” with 11 bedrooms, personal butler assistance, a spa, and a private chapel.
It also claims that the island caters to its high-end guests and can be reached through a 30-minute seaplane or helicopter trip from Nassau, or by taking a private flight to nearby Staniel Cay.
While the first couple and their son, Barron Trump, skipped the family function, the CNN report states that the groom’s siblings, including Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump, along with half-sister Tiffany Trump, accompanied by their spouses, attended the wedding. Additionally, Trump Jr.’s five children, Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer, and Chloe, who he has from his first marriage to Vanessa Trump, were also in attendance.
