A Florida teen, Kahlil John, had an altercation with a neighbor named Karen. The 19-year-old started a window-cleaning business in Central Florida. His business model involved pitching door-to-door to build a client base.

The self-proclaimed entrepreneur came across an old woman who yelled at him, “Leave! Leave!” Instead of politely declining, she became aggressive and called out John for trespassing. On the other hand, the homeowner was laughing and did not get involved in the ordeal.

The teen businessman recorded the video and posted it on Instagram with a caption, “Angry Karen tries to ruin my sale.” The video went viral, giving his business major publicity, and many users claimed that her behavior may have been racially motivated since he is Black.

Atlanta Black Star reposted his video, igniting even more netizens’ reactions. In the video, the woman can be heard yelling at John, “You’re trespassing. Three days in a row.” She also muttered, “These people”, while threatening to call the police on him. He replied, “This is my first day here. I never talked to you.”

He told her, “This is literally my first time ever here.” He said he’s confused, and the woman told him he’s not confused and should leave. She added, “We just went through this five minutes ago.”

She did eventually leave while still threatening to call the cops and convincing the homeowner about his behavior. Many social media users claimed she may have mistaken his identity and assumed he was someone else.

One user pointed out, “This is so sad!! It would have been nice if the owner of the home had escorted Karen off her step and stood up for the kid.” Another one added, “She saw 3 different black people and thought they were the same person.”

The third one warned John, “This isn’t funny!!! This young brother is NOT SAFE in that community. That homeowner can make a false report to the authorities & that young man will be dead. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

There was a storm outside, as seen in the video, so one user commented, “She needs to go home before a house lands on her. That wind is looking for a witch and Oz.” Many people had a problem with the homeowner’s reaction. One person commented, “That neighbor said NOTHING to defend him. She’s part of the problem, too.” Another posted, “The owner of the property should have this shut down.”

One user commented, “WE. DO. NOT. ALL. LOOK ALIKE!!!” in case she confused his identity with someone else. Netizens were elated when she left on her own, and one commented, “Get in the house, Granny Karen!”
