A 55-year-old man, who was previously accused of being a racist, and eight others were indicted on Monday in Franklin County, Ohio. Investigators allege that the defendants had been using drugs to coerce women into commercial sex work. Prosecutors accuse Raymond Valentine and the group of running a human trafficking ring out of a hotel in West Columbus.
According to investigators, the illegal operation took place between April 2025 and January 2026. The group allegedly laundered the money made from the operation through Valentine’s business, Valentine Floral.
Raymond Valentine now faces charges of money laundering, tampering with evidence, and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Notably, he is not charged with compelling prostitution, Atlanta Black Star reported.
However, the way investigators got a hold of Valentine and his illegal business contains a surprising turn of events and a reminder that karma doesn’t spare anyone.
In April 2026, a video surfaced showing Uber driver Kimberly Moss attempting to obtain a signature for a returned delivery at Valentine Floral. The store’s owner, Ray Valentine, reacted aggressively, directing racial slurs at Moss and ordering her to leave the premises.

“(Expletive) I’M TELLING YOU, GET OUT OF MY STORE,” he shouted. “That’s why you deliver for Uber (expletive)! GET OUT, DON’T COME IN HERE AND TALK TO ME LIKE THAT!”
As public backlash grew, Valentine shut down his online presence. Before deleting his accounts, he issued an apology on Facebook, claiming the argument was a misunderstanding that went too far.
In a conversation with ABC6, Valentine acknowledged his mistake and claimed he is not racist.
“I have many friends of color. I’m not racist,” he said at the time. “What happened yesterday came across as being racist. And I deeply apologize. And I wish I could make it up to her. But I probably won’t be able to. And that’s something we’ll have to live with.”
However, a review of his past social media posts revealed he had used a similar racial slur online less than a month prior.
Moss’s son expressed shock and anger over the racist encounter and explained why he took it personally.
“It’s my mom, you know?” Moss’s son told ABC 6. “My mom’s the sweetest woman I’ve ever met. Like Mother Teresa, I never heard anybody speak to my mother like that, so it was complete anger.”
Netizens on Valentine Floral’s social media pages widely characterized the business closure and the owner’s imprisonment as instant karma.
“Imagine going out of business because of unprofessional hostile behavior.. oh wait,” read one comment under his latest post on Instagram.
Another commentator added, “That video I saw of you calling that black women then N-word along with all of the disgusting insulting things you said was absolutely astonishing. I hope for you nothing but the worse. I hope she sue you for all that you have including that dusty (expletive) floral shop. That woman did better than me because I would have swept the floor with your (expletive).”
