A former model, dancer, and actor’s lawsuit against Cassie Ventura has taken a new turn. According to TMZ, Ventura is seeking to dismiss a lawsuit brought by Edmond Laurent, arguing that his lawsuit contradicts his supportive text messages.

Laurent has alleged in his lawsuit that Ventura and Diddy drugged him by spiking his drink with Rohypnol and ketamine. The lawsuit also claims that Laurent was a victim of assault, battery, negligence, sexual battery, and emotional distress.

Ventura has recently filed documents seeking to have Laurent’s claims dismissed as “baseless.” She claimed that when she first spoke about Diddy’s abuse publicly in 2023, Laurent sent her a supportive text. The text read:

“Hi hope you ok i’m sorry I didn’t know he was doing that to you. I will definitely be a witness for you. Edmond. L.”

Ventura is using the text message to show that Laurent initially viewed her as one of the victims as well. However, after her $20 million settlement with Combs, Laurent is dragging her into his $10 million lawsuit.

She went on to describe Laurent’s lawsuit as “baseless and harassing” and also argued that his “repulsive use of the judicial system and the attempt to make a victim into an abuser should not be” allowed by the court.

Additionally, she pointed out that Laurent noted in his own complaint that Ventura was incapacitated by drugs during the freak-offs. This means that if she did do it, her actions were involuntary and directed by Diddy.

In her filing, she also stated that lawsuits like Laurent’s would discourage legitimate victims from coming forward or cooperating with authorities.

Laurent’s allegations stem from his $10 million lawsuit against Combs that he filed in 2025 in Los Angeles Superior Court. In the lawsuit, he claimed that multiple incidents occurred in luxury hotels across Los Angeles during the late 2000s.

According to HipHop Wired, Laurent initially believed he was being hired for private performances through his talent agencies. However, the visits started involving drugs, alcohol, and sexual activity over time.

His strongest claim, though, has been that he unknowingly consumed a drink containing Rohypnol and ketamine. Upon regaining consciousness after the drink, Laurent said he felt “disoriented” and believed he was sexually assaulted.

While Ventura has contended she’s a Diddy victim, she has also admitted to participating in freak-offs with him.

Reportedly, she originally sued Combs in November 2023 and accused him of sexual assault and s-x trafficking. The case was resolved a day later, and both sides admitted that a settlement was reached amicably. However, Combs’s attorney stated that the settlement was not an admission of wrongdoing.

During Combs’ May 2025 trial, she revealed that her 2023 civil lawsuit against him was settled for $20 million.
