Sonic Generations , Sega’s next attempt to revive a franchise that has been dying for over 10 years, finally got a release date earlier today for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360: November 22.
The next in a long line of Sonic titles will attempt to appease fans from both sides of the spectrum; fans of classic, 2D gameplay, and fans of the modern gameplay mechanics familiar to those who played Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Colors .
Sonic Generations features recreations of beloved Sonic stages from old, including the classic Green Hill zone from the original Sonic , Chemical Plant zone from Sonic 2 , and City Escape from Sonic Adventure 2 .
The Nintendo 3DS version, which features exclusive environments and two-player competitive multiplayer, still doesn’t have a release date.
