Police arrested an uncooperative Karen at a traffic stop after she could not explain the damage to her vehicle. She denied a vehicle collision that damaged her car. The officer asked, “Did you hit something?” She denied that. Meanwhile, the car’s wheel was off, and the plastic on top of it was broken. She also had a child inside her car, making the police officer even more concerned. She consistently denied hitting anything despite the damage on her car. It started as a normal interrogation; however, it turned into an arrest with several charges when she refused to hand over her phone and blamed her brother. She didn’t even identify herself and could not remember her Social Security number.

The officer told her she couldn’t have her phone and needed to get into the police vehicle. The officer repeatedly asked her, “Step up to my car for me.” he added, “I’m giving you very simple commands, and you’re not listening to me.”

She kept yelling, “Don’t touch my phone,” while resisting arrest. The officer was handcuffing her at that time. The officer told her she’d get additional charges considering her behavior. After getting handcuffed, she became violent and kicked the vehicle. She also called the officer racist, “Nothing. I just do nothing for you to put me under arrest. I didn’t do s– You want to be a racist? I didn’t do anything.”

While she was in the back of the police cruiser, she was screaming at the top of her lungs while the officers were trying to calm her down. The officer warned her that she’d be charged with a felony if she damaged the vehicle.

In a few minutes, she spat on a police officer’s face, which would definitely count as a felony in her case. The woman was charged with DUI, resisting arrest, child endangerment, and assaulting a police officer.

The incident happened on March 19, 2023, and served as a cautionary reminder of how not to escalate things when speaking to the officers. DECAP COPS shared the bodycam video on YouTube, which has over 1K views. Netizens expressed their frustration and concerns in the comments section after watching the video. One user commented, “So tired of hearing ‘don’t touch me’ perpetual victim.”

Another viewer took a sarcastic dig, “Obstructing identification, refusing multiple lawful commands, actively resisting, kicking the inside of the patrol unit, spitting on law enforcement, slipping the handcuffs, OWI & child endangerment. What could go wrong? No change needed — this is within a direct quote.” Another one posted, “Spitting on someone is vile smh.” “I guess accountability is racism today. FATIGUE is real,” wrote one more.
