Florida deputies were completely devastated by this 2025 incident involving a little girl who had been enduring torture from people who were supposed to be her protectors.
It was a dark, rainy day when a driver spotted a little girl on the side of a pitch-black highway as she fled through the woods in the pouring rain. As she spotted the vehicle approaching, she stood shivering in the dark, wearing nothing but a two-piece bathing suit. Her skin showed clear signs of bruises and bloody cuts.
“I was tied to a chair,” she explained to the driver, begging her for help.
“And then she said, ‘How is she going to be?’ and I felt scared, so I ran away. Can you please help me?” the driver narrated what had happened to the responding officers.
However, when Florida authorities contacted her family members, they completely flipped the narrative and tried to portray her as a troubled child who often gets herself and her family members into all kinds of mess.
Her mother, Tammy, told the officers how she had been bringing false allegations against her own family members. According to her, the kid had frequently made up stories to harm their reputation. She had claimed that her family members had s*xually assaulted her and made her family pay heavy fines.
While Tammy agreed that the child was not suicidal, she further claimed that things got particularly out of hand as the child made “homicidal” statements the night before and wanted to kill everybody present in the house. That’s when Tammy lost her temper and beat her up.
Tammy’s adopted daughter/granddaughter also rang a similar tune.
“When she like did it, she like think she could blame it on mom cuz sometimes she’ll do things and blame it on mom,” she said.
However, the deputies did not buy their story. While the family tried their best to paint her as a troubled runaway. Sitting in the back of a patrol car, she was telling the Florida deputies a story far more sinister. The officers could see the deep, swollen indentation left on her body as proof of what she had actually endured.
She was made to wear a bathing suit inside the house to make sure she was not carrying any weapons. The child got her hands on lighters and matches, and Tammy had no other option but to beat her up with a heavy wooden board from a board game.
Meanwhile, her daughter narrated a sinister story of long-standing abuse. She said that her mom zip-tied her to a chair. She spent a long time trying to free herself.
“My head like really hurts. She’s done this before, too,” the sobbing child told the deputies.
Tammy got arrested in the end. However, with no immediate placement options available, the Florida deputies were forced to make the heartbreaking decision of sending the young victim straight back to her abuser.
Uploaded by Crime Registry on YouTube, the bodycam video has tugged at the heartstrings of almost 10,000 viewers who didn’t seem to agree with the deputies’ decision.
“They sent her back to the abusers!!??? I’m beyond disgusted,” one comment on YouTube read.
Another viewer chimed in, saying, hoping for the child’s safety, “So many people don’t deserve children this woman and her family are pure evil i hope she gets out of that house.”
“Unbelievable that this was handled like it was. These are not protectors, but enablers to allow little girl to be abused!” read a separate comment.
Another commentator added, “Are you kidding me? You sent that young child back to that hell hole , What do you think that evil Woman will do when she gets out next day? I’m livid, This needs a serious investigation about how the Authorities handled this and CPS too, Outrageous!”
