The Worcester Police Department is searching for a 58-year-old Massachusetts woman after her husband, a veteran police officer, was found dead at their Worcester home on Tuesday, August 18. The suspect, identified as Karen Solomon, was labeled armed and dangerous by the DA.

Witnesses last spotted her in a tank top and pajama shorts walking toward Westcott Street. The police have urged anyone who has information related to her to contact them. They responded to an emergency call about the medical situation on Tuesday, August 18, around 5:30 a.m.


They found 57-year-old Kurt Solomon dead at his home. helicopter from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and personnel from Homeland Security and the U.S. The Marshals Service was also present to investigate. So far, the cause of death has not been revealed.

According to WBZ-TV, the Massachusetts authorities did not reveal the type of relationship between Kurt and Karen due to state laws around domestic violence. Still, they were confirmed to be a married couple. They have two adult sons together.

The authorities also sent a reverse 911 call to the residents who live within a 2.5-mile radius. Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. noted, “You got a person in the neighborhood, in the area, presumed to be armed and dangerous; you want to do everything you can to find that person as quickly as possible and also find out what happened in the house that evening.”

The death of the veteran officer has come as a shock to the community. The neighbors revealed the couple had been living there for a long time, and the death of Kurt came as a shock. A neighbor, James Samtom, called him an “awesome guy.” Samtom further added, “I see him walking around all the time, the most awesome person you ever want to meet.”

Meanwhile, Officer Thomas Duffy, President of NEPBA Local 911, said Officer Solomon was a “distinguished member of the department.” He revealed he was close to retirement: “Kurt was a loved and respected member of our department for 31 years.

The authorities want Solomon for questioning. She’s the same woman who was behind an app to help struggling police officers and first responders during a mental crisis in 2016. She is the founder of Organization First H.E.L.P. She also authored a book, “Hearts Beneath the Badge.” She wrote about good deeds performed by law enforcement and was vocal about being a police officer’s spouse.
