apparently frightens off men with her songs – or so she thinks.
In a recent exclusive interview with BANG Showbiz, Clarkson, who has sold more than 20 million records worldwide since winning “American Idol” back in 2002, told the news agency that men are “scared as h***” to date her because she might write a song about them.
“If you’ve got any record of mine then I think they’re a little scary for men. Sometimes they’re about relationships with guys, but it’s more about my work environment. I just write metaphorically speaking as if I’m in a relationship with a guy. I’d be scared as hell to date me. I’d be like, ‘I don’t want a song written about me,’” says Clarkson.
Kelly, who turns 30 next year on April 24th, says she would love to find a guy who is confident around her when she eventually settles down because she thinks most men find her “really intimidating”.
“I never know when people like me, I always find out way later,” the Since U Been Gone singer explained. “I think people are really intimidated by me, which I find really weird because I feel like I’m pretty down to earth and inviting. But apparently that’s not the case…
I’m like so chilled. It’s funny because all the guys that are super confident with me are like giant tools. And all the guys that you want to be confident are insecure around me and they’re the ones you want to ask out.”
Kelly Clarkson’s fifth studio album, Stronger , dropped on Oct. 24 and is available in stores now.
