Sweet Home Alabama actor Josh Lucas quietly married his girlfriend, Jessica, last weekend, after only being engaged for a few months. As of today it’s been confirmed by the actor’s rep that the newlyweds are also expecting a baby as well.
No information has been given on the mommy to be other than her first name, and that the actor brought her to the J. Edgar premiere late last year.
Josh Lucas wasn’t so quiet about the engagement and announced it in January on The Tonight Show while promoting his new NBC drama, The Firm . And what made him pop the question? Well, according to Lucas all it took was an encounter with one hungry mountain lion to give him enough courage to finally pop the question. He explained his horror-story confrontation with the lion to Jay Leno while filming a movie in Big Sur, California.
“I hear, totally serious, two big breaths and six feet above me I see the very slight glint of the eyes of a huge mountain lion,” he said.
“I started screaming and yelling and literally being as crazy as I could be. It padded off and just slowly went away, and I worked my way into the trailer, and I got in, and I decided in that moment that this woman was the woman for me.”
