In a recent interview with German gaming magazine GameStar , the same interview that EA Games Europe boss Patrick Söderlund told the publication that DICE has no plans to create mod tools for Battlefield 3 , Söderlund teased the future of the Mirror’s Edge series.
“We have not abandoned the franchise,” Söderlund told GameStar. “And, you know, we are working on something — but I’m not willing to talk more about that.”
The original Mirror’s Edge may not have sold a great number of copies, but I personally felt it was one of the most refreshing and innovative titles to come out in recent memory. It was certainly not without its flaws – like the frustrating combat system, for example – but it offered heaps of fun and it showed that there’s still plenty of room for creativity in the industry.
In other words, I can’t wait to hear more about Mirror’s Edge 2 .
