Diane Kruger rarely gets recognised.
The ‘Unknown’ actress, who has been in a relationship with actor Joshua Jackson for four years, prefers to dress down when she isn’t working, and so people never realize she is a famous movie star.
She said, “Do I get recognised? Not really because I’m not usually made-up.
“My house in Paris is next door to a university and people think I work there. They constantly ask me directions, ‘Where’s room 405?’ And I’m like, ‘I really don’t know!’ ”
The 34-year-old former model also admitted she doesn’t think looks are important in Hollywood.
She explained to Stylist magazine, “I think I learned very quickly that it doesn’t really matter what you look like. Obviously it’s Hollywood and you get your foot in if you look a certain way, let’s not kid ourselves, but there are a lot of beautiful people in the world.”The German star went on to say that an actor’s success comes not from how they look but what they bring to the screen – and that the “most beautiful” people are those who portray their roles most convincingly.
She said, “It’s about the journey and the emotional intensity you bring to the screen or the part that makes a character alive. Even if you’re the most unattractive, by giving a performance that is emotional you become, on screen, literally the most beautiful person.”
