If you’ve invested in a powerful gaming rig, you were probably among fans disappointed that Crysis 2 launched without DirectX 11 support — or DirectX 10, for that matter. Three months later, Crytek is gearing up to release an update next week that adds in full DirectX 11 support, and with it a significant bump in the graphics department.
The update, due out Monday, June 27, adds in support for realistic shadows, tessellation, high quality motion blur and a number of other DirectX 11 features and graphical upgrades. If you don’t have a DirectX 11 capable card, you’ll still be able to benefit from the new high quality texture pack bundled in with the update.
