A faithful husky saved a six-year-old’s life from a bear attack in a Connecticut home. The dog bravely chased away the bear and prevented it from attacking the boy, Colton. The boy was playing outside with his Nerf toy, clueless about the bear that was about to attack him.
The incident was captured in Jeffrey Tazzara’s home security system. At first, he could not believe what had happened, but he had the video footage to witness the dog’s bravery.
He released the footage to Storyful, praising the dog for running across the yard to chase away the bear. He noted, “A vicious bark, not like she barks and yips and howls and stuff; this was a different kind of bark. Bella finally caught up to the bear, like right in the middle of the driveway, and she bit it in the rear end, and the bear ended up crashing into my boat, and then I think [the bear] scurried under the boat and then through the back between the houses and into the woods.”

The father of the six-year-old was preparing to leave for a Fourth of July party when this happened. He promised to treat Bella, the husky-mix pet, with steak after she saved his son’s life. He added, “She lives the life that most dogs probably wish they had. She’s never, never been on a leash in her life. She just does what she wants. She gets tons of treats.”
Both the son and the father were grateful for Bella. Colton hugged her and thanked her for protecting him from the dangerous bear. In an interview with Inside Edition, the father said Bella took a chunk of the bear’s rear end, making it run away in fear.

The black bear population has increased in the area, according to the state’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Therefore, the residents have to stay vigilant and get horns and bear spray to protect themselves.
