Cindy Davidson of Salt Lake City, Utah made the same purchase that every woman makes every one to two months. Unlike every other woman though, the 39-year-old mom of two found cocaine in two of the 16 cardboard tampon applicators in a box of Boots tampons.
Davidson describes the finding by saying:
“I noticed there was packaging inside that wasn’t normal. They had removed the tampon, and there was cocaine inside. I started getting nervous because I thought it might have been a terrorist attack. I called my sister first and said I was going to call the manufacturer the next day, and she told me to call the police.”
Calling the police turned out to be a good decision, because when they tested the powder, it turned out to be cocaine. While it was not a terrorist attack, it was certainly not supposed to be inside a box of discount tampons. Davidson goes on to say that:
“I really couldn’t wrap my head around it. I was just thinking it was crazy. I couldn’t believe it had happened.”
Her reaction is completely understandable, considering the find, which Davidson described on her Facebook page:
“No one would ever believe what has happened 2 me 2nite. I bought a package of tampons filled with cocaine bags. I have had hazmat and the police at my house all night. I will post details as they become available. Totally tripping out.”
The police eventually left her home, along with the cocaine-laced tampons. The rest of the Boots tampons have been commandeered by police from the NPS store where Cindy Davidson purchased her box. Officers will work to determine where the shipment came from, and hopefully where the narcotics came from as well.
