Trigger Warning: This article contains references to alleged sexual abuse involving a minor that some readers may find distressing.

An Army soldier was taken into custody in Ohio for allegedly raping a minor at a motel.

Identified as Jayden Christopher Fox, 21, he was arrested on Friday at a motel in rural Montville and charged with first-degree rape of a child under the age of 13, according to Dailymail, which viewed court records.

A criminal complaint that was filed in Medina Municipal Court claims Fox allegedly engaged in s*xual conduct with a 12-year-old girl on Friday. According to the report, he had traveled from a military base to Ohio ahead of the alleged assault.

Fox is a Florida native who graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina in 2025. His mother had shared a celebratory post on social media announcing the feat. While he is not currently stationed at that base, it is unclear where his actual assignment is.

Fox is currently logged at Medina County Jail with a bond set at $2 million.

While the soldier has not entered a plea, a grand jury indicted him on a first-degree rape charge on Tuesday. His arraignment is scheduled for August 24. For those unversed, the first-degree charge against him carries a mandatory prison sentence of at least five years.

During the court hearing, the judge also granted a temporary protection order for the survivor. Prosecutors have also recommended Fox be barred from contact with anyone under 18.

Neither the US Army nor Fox’s defense attorney has provided any official comment on the case.

Meanwhile, Fox’s arrest comes just months after reports of several other service members’ s*xual offenses against minors.

According to the DailyMail, Sgt Major Victor M Rivera, a 49-year-old high-ranking noncommissioned officer at Fort Hood, Texas, was jailed for 25 years for allegedly s*xually assaulting two minors in June.

In a similar case, soldier Tyrone Barry Carter, 26, was charged with aggravated child molestation in May. His bond was set at $25,000 in June.
