‘Scandal’ Season 5 Spoilers — Will Huck Kill Papa Pope In The Winter Finale?

The upcoming winter finale of Scandal is set to feature exciting new developments as the show wraps up the first half of Season 5. In particular, more trouble is ahead for Olivia Pope’s (Kerry Washington) father. Not only is Rowan Pope (Joe Morton) set to be captured by Huck (Guillermo Diaz), but he will also face a man who isn’t afraid to silence him for good. Does this mean Huck might actually kill Rowan in the finale?

According to Penn Live, the teaser trailer for the episode, titled “Baby It’s Cold Outside,” reveals that Rowan has been taken captive by Huck. Apparently, the ensuing interaction between Rowan and Huck reaches a high point when Rowan attempts to get in Huck’s head by talking about his family. This includes a heated discussion about Huck’s son, Javi.

“There’s no gratitude in parenting. I don’t know why we do it,” Rowan tells Huck. “Have you seen Javi recently? No? Do you think he misses you? Or do you think he’s happier now that he knows that his insane shell of a human father is out of the picture again?”

At this point, Huck is clearly upset with Rowan and all the talk about his family. However, this doesn’t prevent Rowan from continuing to hammer on Huck’s family issues.

“One could argue that [Javi is] better off being parented by one of the random men who have run in and out of the house over the years,” he stated.

This comment leads to Huck choking out Rowan, who doesn’t appear to dislike being strangled. Exactly what unfolds beyond this is yet to be seen, but it will be interesting to see if Huck musters the courage to be able to kill his former commander.

This is especially true considering the fact that Rowan taught him just about everything he knows about being a special ops agent. Additionally, it has been rumored that a death is on the way for the show, and given this interaction between Huck and Rowan it would appear as though Rowan’s life is in danger.

Meanwhile, Yibada is reporting that the episode will also feature Olivia being stretched outside of her comfort zone. This includes her taking on new duties as the First Lady after moving into the White House.

Despite her proficiency in pretty much anything she attempts to accomplish, her new job requirements are set to be a little more complicated and overwhelming than Olivia first thought. Will she be able to adjust to her new life as First Lady, or will she abandon some of these new duties and return to her old work?

While we wait to see how Olivia handles her new situation, Mellie (Bellamy Young) is set to undergo some changes of her own. In particular, Mellie is expected to get back in the political game after getting booted from the White House.

In fact, according to Fashion & Style, Mellie is set to garner even more power and influence in the political sphere as she exercises her newfound position as a senator. Exactly how she intends to flex her muscles isn’t known, but it will likely not bode well for President Fitz (Tony Goldwyn).

Elsewhere, it has yet to be confirmed when Scandal will return to TV following its winter finale. That being said, the finale is set to feature so many exciting elements that fans are sure to get all they can handle from the hit series before it heads into its long winter break.

Fans can watch all the drama unfold when the winter finale of Scandal airs November 19 on ABC.
