A rare yellow lobster caught by fishermen off the coast of P.E.I., Canada, is 1 in 30 million.
The yellow lobster was caught and given to Nathan Nickerson, the owner of Arnold’s Lobster and Clam Bar in Eastham, on Cape Cod. New England Aquarium director of research Michael Tlusty says a rare genetic mutation produces yellow lobsters at a rate of about 1 in 30 million.
Restaurant owner Nathan Nickerson says that the yellow lobster, which is now affactionately known as ‘Fiona’ is safe at his eatery and that he’ll keep it on display rather than cook it.
