A wife in Majorca has been convicted of her husband’s murder after she brutally killed him. The man’s body was found half-eaten by the family dog in the house the couple shares. Here’s how the horrendous murder unfolded that led to the man’s unfortunate death.

Horst Hans Henkels and Svetlana Batukova had been married for four months before Horst’s death. The couple who had been together for 2 years had a tumultuous relationship with a history of domestic abuse.

Henkel was stabbed to death in 2016 at their home in Sant Llorenç. The man’s body was found with parts of his arm missing. The police later found that pounds of the man’s flesh had been fed to the family dog.

Svetlana reportedly cut off the flesh and fed it to the American Staffordshire Bull Terrier. According to The Majorca Daily Bulletin, Horst who was repeatedly stabbed to death and passed away after suffering blood loss. His arms were reportedly stripped to the bone when his corpse was found.

The man had undergone surgery for his trachea, which rendered him unable to speak at the time of his murder. Svetlana reportedly used a kitchen knife to stab and later slice the flesh off of her husband.

Authorities revealed that they had visited the couple’s family home several times. The police shared that there had been several reports of domestic abuse throughout the couple’s relationship. Reports also suggest that Svetlana was intoxicated at the time of the murder. The woman was found under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of her arrest.

During her 020 appeal, the presented evidence showed exactly how the heinous murder was committed. The 46-year-old killed her husband slowly by cutting his flesh off bit by bit. She initially blamed the family dog for killing her husband.

The claim was immediately dismissed when forensic evidence was taken into consideration. Experts confirmed that a knife was used to kill the 66-year-old man. Svetlana’s lawyers argued that there wasn’t enough conclusive evidence to prove that she had committed the murder.

The defence was rejected, leading to the woman being sentenced to 14 years in prison. Investigators also revealed that Svetlanan had previously offered a third party to murder her husband. She later decided to carry out the killing on her own. This alone proved that Horst Hans Henkels’s murder was premeditated by his wife. Thanks to the Spanish court’s verdict, Svetlana Batukova is still serving her sentence in prison.
