Vikings left to clean up Favre mess

Someone from the Minnesota Vikings front office, coaching staff, or roster of players made a very large tactical error in their courtship of one Brett Favre. This is one of those things where the team, as a whole, should have said nothing to the press, and went about their pursuit of Favre in private. Now that Favre has decided, at least for now, to stay retired the Vikings have a huge mess to clean up. In all reality they Vikings may have just ruined their 2009 season.

Now the Vikings QB battle will be between 4th year QB Tarvaris Jackson, and 8th year veteran Sage Rosenfels. The main problem with that is the coaches, the front office, and even some of the players have already come out and essentially said they are not good enough. How could eitherone of these men attack their job withany confidence? The entire Vikings establishment has judged both of them as not good enough.

If the fans of a team want an upgrade a a postiion that is one thing, but if the enitre orginization judges you not worthy of your role, befroe the season even starts, how can anyone expect eitehr one of these guys to step up and lead the team onto the field?

It seems rather surprising that nietherone of these men have demanded a trade away from the Vikings, but alas the truth is these men are not good enough to demand a trade for this disrespectful treatment. The Vikings arenow in a precarious situation, one of these men is most likely going to be their starting QB. Instead of pumping him up with help and support the team, front office, and players openly campaigned to get a once great QB. In the process they undercut their own teammate, and did significant damage to their season before it even begins.
