Victoria Azarenka, who entered the French Open this weekend with the number one seed, is packing her bags now that she has lost to 15th seeded Dominika Cibulkova. Azarenka lost 6-2, 7-6 (4) to Cibulkova, during a match that was filled with frustrated racket slamming.

Azarenka was obviously frustrated with her performance. After the match she told reporters:

“Pretty much everything (went wrong), really. I don’t know how to describe my performance today … I wasn’t satisfied being out there playing that way but I guess it happens.”

Azarenka added that she was tired and that she probably wouldn’t enter another tournament until Wimbledon. Azarenka said:

“It’s been a lot of tennis for me in the last five months – I need to rest a little.”

Cibulkova, 23, will now play the winner of sixth seed Sam Stosur and Sloane Stephens of the United States. Stosur and Stephens play later today.

With Azarenka out, Maria Sharapova is now the top seeded player. According to Fox Sports, the French Open is the only grand slam that has eluded Sharapova during her career.
