USC gets the smack down

They use to call the USC Trojans LA’s pro team. They got it half right as it now looks like the school committed major NCAAA rules violations, which have resulted in a ton of penalties. Firs things first I think Pete Carroll had a lot to do with all of this, and saw which way the wind was blowing and bolted town as fast as he could. I also happen to think new Head Coach Lane Kiffin also new a lot of these violations were taking place, and he his hardly Mr. Clean Program.

So the first sanction is the school must cut ties with ex football player Reggie Bush, and former basketball player OJ Mayo. The Football team has been banned from any Bowl Game appearances for the next two years. They have also lost 30 football scholarships over the next three years. If the NCAA holds onto precedence they will also let current USC players transfer schools without giving up a year of eligibility. To be point the USC football program was put down today. They will have a very difficult time getting recruits over the next few years.

The news doesn’t get any better from there. USC will have to vacate the 2004 BCS title, all of its wins in 2005. There may also be a new call to strip Bush of his Heisman Trophy (since technically now those games never happened). The NCAA also considered placing a TV ban on the school, even though these are the most serious penalties handed down in recent memory, maybe ever.
