Donald Trump has nothing but love for Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney on Monday. Following two strong debate performances in Florida and a surge in the polls Romney is on track to wipe the floor with Newt Gingrich in the state’s primary on Tuesday.

Trump’s main praise of Romney was that Romney was starting to take credit for being uber rich.

The Donald said,

“It’s a great thing when you can show that you’ve been successful and that you’ve made a lot of money and that you’ve employed a lot of people. I actually think it’s a positive and I think that actually Mitt Romney is starting to do that. You know, at first he was a little bit hesitant about it and now he’s out there … So I really think it’s a positive. Newt will tell you, he was off. He did not do well. He wasn’t terrible, but he certainly didn’t do great, and I think Mitt Romney actually did great. I thought in those last two debates that Mitt was fantastic.”

The Donald also was not hesitant to say that if he stayed unimpressed by the Republican field that he could run as an independent . What makes no sense about his statements is that in an election with two republicans and President Obama, it is almost certain that President Obama would win so why do it?

I would assume that with Donald Trump it has to do with a healthy dose of massive ego on the business mogul’s part.

The issue is I can think of nothing worse than two republicans (one republican and one “independent”) running against President Obama. Actually I can think of something worse, two of the richest people in America feeling so entitled to the presidency that they challenge the sitting president with the argument “look how rich I am I must be doing something right”. This is not the argument to make to America right now.

Do you think Donald Trump should run as an independent?
