President Donald Trump often takes shots at former President Barack Obama, who left office nearly a decade ago. Most recently, he posted an AI-generated image of Obama’s presidential library as a dumpster surrounded by tents and homeless encampments. It was only a week ago that the POTUS had posted the image of the landmark as a trash can with a garbage stick sticking out.

In his latest swipe at Barack Obama, Trump mocked Obama’s presidential library with an AI image showing the landmark near a dumpster surrounded by tents and makeshift shelters used by homeless individuals. It also showed a black garbage bag sticking out of the top. “The Barack Hussein Obama Library, in 10 years, when fully matured!” Trump wrote alongside.

The mockery quite evidently didn’t sit well with internet users, who compared both presidencies and their dealings with Iran. A user said, “At least Obama was able to make a deal with Iran, have people monitoring Iran on the ground, and not have the Strait of Hormuz blocked by thugs for 3 months with rising gas prices at home. No discussions of billions given to Iran like now. Nothing to brag about here.”

Another user said, “Can Trump predict what will happen to his “legacy”? This is the most hated president in American history. Look to how dictators’ legacies turned out as a sneak peek.” In contrast, a third user suggested, “Several cities look like this under Trump’s presidency. He needs to focus on himself.”

On May 30, the 79-year-old also posted a fabricated image of the landmark that was quite similar to the latest meme, showing a giant trash can in a parking lot with a heading, “The Obama Presidential Library.” Prior to this, on February 22, Trump had called the center a “total disaster” for being delayed and overbudget.

“Illinois is spending hundreds of millions of dollars in trying to BAIL OUT Obama’s badly delayed, and tremendously over budget, “Library.” The neighborhood is ANGRY AS HELL. It is a total disaster!,” he wrote on his Truth Social.

In response to this, according to USA Today, Obama Foundation CEO Valerie Jarrett instead invited the POTUS for a tour of the library. She invited people to see the property for themselves, claiming it to be impressive and saying Trump would be welcome to visit and take a tour.

The USA Today report also suggests that the center will open on June 19. The museum and surrounding campus are on Chicago’s South Side in Jackson Park. It sits near the University of Chicago and the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry.

A Chicago-based nonprofit, Protect Our Parks, apparently filed a lawsuit demanding the construction halt on the historic site, but the legal action was ultimately terminated. Several local community groups also reportedly expressed concerns, insisting that its presence would price out residents.

Despite significant criticism, the Obama Foundation started construction in 2021. The campus reportedly includes the ticketed museum, a civic center with a cafe and restaurant, an athletic center, a Chicago Public Library branch, and more.
