Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., took to her social media on Wednesday to announce that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. “I want to share a personal health update. I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” a part of her long note read. Vanessa has currently been receiving immense love and support from her loved ones; the news has yet again brought attention to her past relationship with the Trump family.

Why Vanessa and Donald Trump Jr. Divorce?

Vanessa Trump got married to President Donald Trump’s elder son, Trump Jr., in 2005. After nearly 13 years of marriage, they filed for divorce, and the split was reportedly described as an “uncontested” divorce. According to a source cited in Page Six’s March 2018 report, the duo had been facing marital problems for a long time.

“The couple had hoped to stay together during the president’s time in office, but it is getting harder to resolve their issues,” the source had said.

Vanessa and Trump Jr. share five children: Kai (19), Donald John III (17), Tristan (14), Spencer (13), and Chloe(11). After finalizing their divorce in February 2019, they issued an official statement assuring that they would stay committed to raising their kids together, whose happiness will always be their “first priority.”

Vanessa and Trump Jr. remain amicable

Keeping their promise, the duo remains cordial with each other and maintains an amicable relationship despite moving on in their lives with different partners. Trump Jr., who has been engaged to socialite Bettina Anderson, is expected to marry her soon, while Vanessa is in a relationship with professional golfer Tiger Woods.

It was just a couple of weeks ago that the ex-couple came together to celebrate their daughter, Kai Trump’s, final prom. This comes amid Woods’s struggles with legal issues over his recent arrest and is being treated in a Swiss rehab. In addition, the duo also reunited for their daughter’s 19th birthday celebration, nearly a week earlier, on May 13.

The Trump family extends support to Vanessa

Following the devastating news of Vanessa’s breast cancer diagnosis, her daughter, Kai, posted a loving image on her Instagram stories with her mom donning a blue cap and gown. “The strongest person I know, Love you,” she wrote on the image. She also posted a video on her Instagram stories while she got ready for the special day, while her mother exclaimed, “I can’t believe she’s graduating today.”

Meanwhile, the Trump family has been rallying around the president’s eldest grandchild amid her mother’s sudden breast cancer diagnosis.  According to the Daily Mail, the 19-year-old was seen in New York City on Wednesday, accompanied by her grandmother, Bonnie Haydon, and her aunt, Veronika Haydon, for dinner. They apparently celebrated Kai’s graduation from the Benjamin school, while her mom gave it a miss,
