Former running back for the Giants Tiki Barber has filed papers to make a return to football, after quitting the game in 2006 after his last season with New York team.

Barber played with the Giants for ten years, the duration of his NFL career. He worked several media gigs following his retirement, but his contracts were not renewed by NBC. At 36, he says he feels surprisingly up to playing football on the regular again:

“After seeing my brother still have fun at our age, it reignited the fire… I’m really looking forward to the challenge of seeing if I can get back to the level of where I was. I started working out again recently. It kind of shocked myself. I still had a lot of the strength I had before. I’m really looking forward to making a return.”

Barber’s twin Ronde recently signed for his 15th season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was most recently in the news last April for leaving his then-pregnant wife Ginny for his 23-year-old mistress.
