Steve Jobs’ death certificate and made public by Apple Inc. revealed that he died of respiratory arrest caused by a pancreatic tumor.

The Apple Inc. co-founder who died at 56 last October 5 in his house in Palo Alto, California has long battled pancreatic cancer. Diagnosed in 2003, he took three leave of absences from his work before finally resigning from his post this year.

The death certificate issued by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department in San Jose listed respiratory arrest as the main cause of his death with “metastatic pancreas neuroendocrine tumor” as the reason for the respiratory problem. No autopsy was conducted on Jobs.

Job was buried last Friday at a non-denominational cemetery in Santa Clara County. Meanwhile, Apple employees will hold a memorial service for Jobs on October 19 at 10 a.m., according to a memo sent out by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

The company will not be holding any public service, Apple announced.
