The owner of the $99,864, 731.94 account balance found on an ATM receipt has yet to come forward. The receipt was discovered at an East Hampton Capitol One bank.
Rumors quickly spread that the receipt belongs to hedge fund manager David Tepper, however he quickly denied that rumor, stating that he wasn’t in the Hampton’s at all in June, while adding:
“I would never do something as irresponsible as leaving $100 million in a savings account.”
That’s funny because he had no problem dropping $43.5 million on a house.
So would the real ATM receipt owner is still at large and the site that broke the story Deal Book is naming names, they just happen to be everyone with a home in the Hampton’s from New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg to Schwarzman and Paulson.
Seriously though, who just leaves nearly $100 million in a savings account.
