TW: The article contains details about gun violence and abuse.
Last week, a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) employee was accused of unlawfully detaining a teenager at gunpoint while off duty. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place around 10:30 p.m. on November 10 outside a home on the 32000 block of Daybrook Terrace in Temecula, California.
As the case moved forward, attorney Greg Kirakosian, representing the 17-year-old boy, said that the suspect had been identified as Gerardo Rodriguez. The boy was driving home after dropping off a friend when Rodriguez allegedly pointed a gun at his vehicle and ordered him to stop.
“In that moment, he feared for his life,” Kirakosian said. “A man approached his door, armed and pulled him out at gunpoint.”
Video obtained by the outlet called KTLA shows Rodriguez pulling out a gun from his belt, pointing it at the teen’s pickup truck, and demanding that he stop as the ICE employee also flashed a badge.
“It’s gotten so bad where he thinks he can now turn his block into his own personal ICE checkpoint,” the lawyer said. “I don’t know how much worse the situation is going to get, honestly. This kid could’ve been shot.” Full Story: https://t.co/EcW12wLG6A pic.twitter.com/1vLnzzf8OC

The teen was then confronted and interrogated about his identity, origin, and documentation. “Freeze, police,” Rodriguez can be heard shouting. “Put the car in park. Get out. You’re speeding in the neighborhood.” He allegedly questioned the teen, who is Mexican American about where he was from, claiming he worked for ICE and was recognized by neighbors as an immigration officer.
Eventually, the neighbors intervened as the teen appeared overwhelmed, and they asked the officer to leave the boy alone until his parents came. Fearing the situation was an immigration enforcement action, the parents rushed to the scene with their son’s passport and called 911.
Later, the authorities contacted Rodriguez, detained him, and searched his residence. Investigators collected evidence tied to the case, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The minor’s attorney, Greg Kirakosian, said that these kinds of cases have frightened many people in the local communities, which are filled with Mexican Americans and people of color.

Critics have brutally slammed Donald Trump’s ICE agents for their harsh and ruthless methods of carrying out announced raids. Some of the abrupt arrests, instances of bullying, and merely scaring people away have also been captured on camera and shared on X( formerly Twitter).
According to data from the National Immigration Forum, deportation cases filed in immigration court increased, with a lot of immigration violations, not criminal charges.
Immigration detainers increased by 75% during the early months of the Trump administration, leading to major instances of vandalism, protests, social media outrage and overall dissatisfaction from citizens calling Trump a narcissist and a fascist.
Trump’s thugs aren’t just abducting undocumented immigrants.
More than 170 American citizens — including children — have been detained and assaulted by ICE since he took office.

Meanwhile, in a similar incident, a shocking clip circulating on social media revealed how an ICE agent pepper-sprayed a 1-year-old girl during a family grocery trip in Illinois.. It was a part of “Operation Midway Blitz,” which was meant to arrest illegal immigrants with criminal records.
Since its launch, videos showing aggressive arrests and warrantless detentions by ICE agents have surfaced almost daily. Another video showed agents assaulting a U.S. citizen while ignoring his requests to check his ID.
Despite Willy Aceituno telling them that he was a naturalized citizen of the country, ICE agents assaulted him outside a diner in Charlotte, North Carolina. Despite so many reports of misconduct, the administration does not seem to be ending any of it soon.
