A 7-year-old Utah girl did not panic when her one-year-old sister fell into the pool and called 911 for help. Her quick action to call for help saved her sister’s life while her mother was administering CPR to her.

The mother found the one-year-old had fallen into the pool. She explained that when she took her out of the pool, her lips and face were very blue. Her daughter wasn’t breathing. She immediately started to administer CPR as first aid, but knew that they needed help.

The Utah mother called on the 7-year-old and asked her to call 911. She said, “Dylan, Dylan dial 911,” in a state of panic. Dylan got her mom’s phone and called them. She told the operator, “Our baby fell in the pool, and we can’t get her back alive.” The operator asked, “How old is the baby?” She responded, “She’s one year old.” After this, the help was on its way.

Meanwhile, the mom had learned CPR at the girl’s camp as a teenager. When the paramedics came, they took baby Blake to the Children’s Hospital for treatment. Later on, the mother confessed she put so much pressure on the elder daughter during the situation. That ended up saving her life.

The doctors did a few tests on Blake but weren’t too hopeful for her recovery. The family prayed and hoped for her to come out of sedation soon. The mom told ABC News, “I sang a few songs to her, and I started singing, and it was that moment that she was gonna be alright.” They brought Blake home after a few days from the hospital.

The family shared this experience on the news to promote awareness. The mom suggested everyone get trained in infant CPR. It could help save a life. Besides, staying calm in such situations can be life-saving.

Netizens called the 7-year-old a hero. One viewer commented, “Proud of that girl, big heroism by her, she’s really damn brave.” The second one suggested, “The parents need to put better security on the pool so these types of things don’t happen. But I’m just happy she’s okay!!”

One more added, “What an incredible young girl!!! Thank you to the family for sharing their story & possibly helping someone else prevent such a tragedy! Thank God the little girl is okay!”
